Energy Management Reports
Energy management reports can be prepared to support a corporate body or an individual building or site manager to understand and monitor their energy usage. The level of detail required will vary to suit the client need and will be dependent on the importance of fuel costs and/or carbon emissions to the organisation involved.
The report should allow facility and sustainability managers to understand and control energy use within their organisation. Recommendations can be included to consider energy demand reductions including building type initiatives and/or for changes within operational procedures and building user behaviour patterns. These reports can be used to:
- Establish an appropriate energy policy
- Identify the relevant energy aspects from an organisation’s activities
- Set appropriate energy objectives and targets
- Establish a relevant structure and programme to implement the policy and achieve the objectives
- Facilitate planning, control, monitoring, preventative and corrective actions, auditing and review activities
Where required a compliant report can be prepared to obtain approval to BS EN 16001 “Energy Management Systems”
The relevant scope and detail required in any management report will vary dependent on the organisation, building or development type, the stage of the project, any planning policy requirements and the client needs.
