Party Wall Surveyors
The ‘Party Wall Act’ is legislation that seeks to avoid disputes between neighbours whilst permitting building work to take place adjacent to an existing structure and/or access to be obtained over neighbouring land. The Act came into force on the 1st July 1997 and applies throughout England and Wales.
The works can include :
- Works to a new building at or astride the boundary line between two properties
- Direct work to a party wall or structure
- Excavations within 3 or 6 metres of a neighbouring building dependent on the depth involved
- Installation of piled foundations and retaining wall construction
