Surveys and Audits
Energy surveys and audits can be prepared to calculate, review and benchmark the energy performance of a building or building system. These can be reviewed against industry benchmarks or contemporary performance standards by building simulation modelling using approved software.
These reports are intended to establish the total energy use of a building and how this is made up by both fuel type and energy demand requirement. The primary and secondary energy demands can be assessed and the opportunity for savings can be determined.
The level of detail required will vary to suit the client need and will be dependent on the nature and scale of the building involved. Feasibility studies can also be included to assess possible improvements including calculation of financial and environmental payback periods.
The survey and audit report may be extended to include an energy management report which then provides detail as to how to manage, monitor, audit ongoing energy use and take corrective action where necessary.
